Internet Sting Nabs Suspect

A Forest Grove man was arrested for luring a minor online, authorities said Wednesday.

Detectives from the Interagency Child Exploitation Team arrested 21-year-old Michael P. Caldwell after serving a search warrant at his home. Investigators seized two computers along with other miscellaneous digital evidence, said Washington County Sheriff's Sgt. David Thompson.

Caldwell was charged with online sexual corruption of a child and luring a minor. The charges stem from Caldwell's online activities, in which he believed he was chatting with a 13-year-old girl, authorities said.

He was also served with an arrest warrant from Florida, where detectives have charged him with numerous similar crimes.
