Bath man who claims to be HIV-positive charged with having sex with girls

A 23-year-old Bath man charged last month with having child pornography images at his home has now been charged with having sex with girls he met on-line.

When Colonial Regional police seized 125 images of child pornography from the home of Shaun Patrick Austin, of the 200 block of East Main Street, he allegedly told police he is HIV positive and had sex with girls he met on social networking sites. Police said at least some of the explicit images were of one of his rape victims.

Austin was charged today with rape, rape of a child and related offenses for allegedly assaulting four girls and young women, between the ages of 12 and 18. The assaults occurred between summer 2006 and April of this year, police said.

Austin told police he met the girls on MySpace.com and Vampirefreaks.com.
